Accessible & Affordable Laboratory solutions For All

AALFA is a non-profit organization with the aim of identifying innovative diagnostic solutions and make them suitable for resources limited settings in order to support local laboratory capacities and facilitate access to diagnostics.

AALFA has made its primary mission to make the Mini-Lab (a simplified bacteriology laboratory developed by Médecins Sans Frontières MSF, and its partners) available to health organizations and Ministries of Health (MoH) in low resource settings to be used for patient care and surveillance as a tool to fight Antimicrobial Resistance.

Mini-Lab deployed

With support from the World Health Organization we’re developing a sequencing module: after hosting a hands-on training in Brussels, our team completed the first sequencing runs in Bukavu in September, an exciting step as we expand our activities.

AALFA honorary patron Denis Mukwege

We are honored to have Nobel Peace Prize Dr. Denis Mukwege from the Fonds Dr Denis Mukwege – Hôpital Panzi as our honorary patron, whose commitment to health and human dignity inspires our mission.
